Just before Christmas, I was contacted by a customer who wanted to purchase all of my 'Great Bakes' prints to be displayed together as a set on their wall.
However, they were faced with a small problem. There are eight prints in the set (available in my shop), but one of those is a print featuring all of the bakes. Only seven prints featured a single bake, and an eighth was required to make their gallery wall display work.
They got in touch to ask if I was planning to do any more and it just so happened that I had a half-finished drawing of a Dundee Cake. I'm glad they got in touch as they were very happy when I told them I could finish it and add it to the set. So if you ever have a question about the artwork you are looking for, please get in touch.
Here is the finished artwork which is now available in my shop. I can’t wait to see what they look like all together in one place on this customer's wall, but I was delighted when they contacted me to say "This is amazing, I love it. Thank you so much. Can't wait to receive them!". I aim to please.

It’s the best feeling in the world when a customer likes your work and comes back to order something else. After completing the portrait of the gorgeous Lola (above). I advised her owner that I could turn it into a customised Christmas card which I had done several times before for customers.
After completing the card (above), it sparked the idea to commission a piece of art for her friends as a Christmas gift. They are the owner-operators of Celentano’s restaurant in my home city of Glasgow.
I wanted to do something striking and Pop Arty so I focussed on the warm lit sign on the exterior against the dark blue night of Glasgow. It’s a restaurant that has attracted rave reviews and I think I’ll have to try it out for myself on my next visit to the city.

My portrait of Dingo:
Special nicknames: King of Cardboard, Bubba, Mr. Bubs, Bubs
Breed: Australian Kelpie x Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler)
Favourite food: carrots, blueberries, and chicken
Favourite toy: cardboard or big sticks bordering on tree limbs he has to carry through the entirety of any walk
Favourite thing to do: play chase, belly rubs, and long walks/hikes
Favourite place to do it: anywhere
Favourite person to cuddle: I'd say my husband or I but really anyone who doesn't mind some face licks in the process is his favorite.
Funny story or quirks: He doesn't use his bark to his advantage and he has a habit of locking himself in rooms but just waiting calmly to be found. The first time we left him at home (he was a COVID baby so we were worried he would react badly) we came back to a completely empty house. We proceeded to freak out thinking he ran away in retaliation, although no signs of escape, only to find him in the bathroom where he had his first incident of locking himself in a room. You'd think he would have barked when he heard us come in and yell his name 100 times but nope just sat calmly until found.

Funny story or funny quirks: The funniest thing that Ted does is actually fight people for pizza. He literally escapes from wherever he is & runs in & opens the takeaway pizza box & grabs the pizza😂 Trying to play tug with Ted & a pizza box is no fun & he as always wins!! He is a total food fiend but pizza nights are definitely Teds favourite nights & he especially enjoys extra cheese on his pizza.

Sophie is a little rescue that had been used for breeding and was abandoned outside the pound. She was running out of time fast when the good people of Animal Helpline found her, but even then because she was a Staffy and brindle coloured, she was passed by. Time passed and then she found us and it was love at first site. She was super quiet at first, but when she found her voice, she really found it. She is a wonderful little dog and I feel truly blessed that she came into our lives and we’ve been able to give her a loving home.
